Surya Movie Review : A 1990 film unfolding in 2022
When one such act results in the death of his entire family, Captain Surya (Prasad Mangesh) sets out on a killing spree.
Surya is a film from a time gone by when the only plot required was the hero’s muscles, and character development was done with a fist to the face. Keeping to this sensibility, the movie ignores logic and narrative flow in favor of the hero punch fighting his way to justice.
Prasad Mangesh and Devshi Khanduri are stone faced throughout most of the film. Arun Nalawde, Akhilendra Mishra and Ganesh Yadav do a decent job but are reduced to caricatures. The saving grace for the film is Ruchita Jadhav, who plays a good supportive role.
To cut a long story short, watch this film only if you want to relive some 90s nostalgia.
