Kutch Express Movie Review : Kutch Express Review

Story: The story revolves around Monghi, a simple homemaker from a town in Kutch, who believes that she has a perfect marriage. But her illusion receives a rude jolt and her world comes crashing down. She tries every possible way to save her marriage. Is she able to join the broken pieces of her marriage or does destiny have something else in store for Monghi?

Review: The film is nothing less than an experience. The story by Rahul Mallick is sheer brilliance where he manages to inculcate not just the emotions, but Kutch and its art as an intricate character. Cinematographer Dhawalika Singh has captured the film on celluloid in a splendid manner. Direction by Viral Shah is on point; he has managed to do justice by not only making all the pieces fall into the right place but also by keeping the film tight in terms of duration. He must have done proper recce and that sharpness shows in the narrative, resulting in an excellent movie. Music by Sachin-Jigar is magical and adds more to the vibrant feel of the movie. Mangamta Divaso and Ude Re Gulaal are two beautiful numbers that stay with you. Dialogues by Raam Mori are excellent too.

Some marvellous performances are the best part about the film. Ratna Pathak Shah (Baiji) and Manasi Parekh (Monghi) are awesome as saas-bahu, and their onscreen chemistry is like fireworks. Dharmendra Gohil (Dharmesh) makes us hate him with his performance but there’s a good side to his character as well and he manages to balance it all seamlessly. Darsheel (Avinash) skilfully makes his character of a cool GenZ guy with a good boy appeal look real. The game-changer person is Viraf Patell as Madan- an absolute charmer on screen and how he empowers Monghi and her entire Sisoti gang is worth watching. Sisoti gang ladies are uber cool and their performances add more power to the film.

Overall, it’s a perfect family entertainer with the message of empowerment. This film keeps you engrossed right from the beginning to the end. You laugh, you cry, and you feel hopeful as you leave the theatre. The artworks put together by the production and art design team add more vibrancy to the movie.
