Koutilya Movie Review : A love story with undertones of commercials elements falls flat

Plot: With elections are around the corner, politicians distribute money to lure voters, but they soon realise that those are fake notes, and this makes headlines

Godse (Arjun Ramesh) is a happy-go-lucky guy who works in a construction company. He leads his life to the fullest. He falls in love with a woman, Monsoon, who has similar views about life. On other other hand, police are on a mission to trace culprits who have replaced original notes with fake currency. How Godse and Monsoon are connected to the fake currency scandal and their motive behind it forms the main storyline.

Kautilya lacks conviction. It has a romantic story with the undertones of suspense thriller elements, but it falls flat from the word go. The content lacks meat and fails to keep one glued to the screen. The treatment of the subject, which is completely outdated, fails to make an impact. Tepid narration and average background score further adds to the woes. Even commercial elements like comedy and action don’t invoke any interest.
