Dwipatra Movie Review : A thrilling murder mystery
Review: The daughters of a minister, commissioner and a common man are murdered one after the other. The killer has left a clue at each murder. There is police, CBI and detectives working on this case and are trying their best to crack it. But, despite the best brains put on the case, they are unable to trace the killer. Will the killer be caught and brought to justice?
Dwipatra means double acting in Kannada. But, here, it means a single person sharing the double DNA. The story revolves around this.
Suspense thrillers require a fast and gripping screenplay and a quick runtime. Dwipatra team has got only the latter right. The film runs tight and does not give too much time for the audience to pause and think. However, screenplay suffers due to unnecessary scenes that has very little to do with the gripping climax.
Director Srivatsa’s vision and writing seems a bit confusing. Malavika has delivered a profound performance. Chandu Gowda impresses as a tough cop. Suchendra Prasad, Avinash, Raghu Vine Store, Prasanth, Siddique, Payal Changappa and others have supported the script very well. The casting looks great and that is the highlight of the film. The score and cinematography blends well with the film. Overall, it is a unique attempt.
Dwipatra is a good attempt by a debutant director and makes for a decent watch for those who enjoy thrillers.
